Eureka 4236AZ Comfort Clean Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner Review

Eureka 4236AZ Comfort Clean Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner

(More customer reviews)
I have been trying to decide which new vacuum to buy and finally bought this Eureka.
I had just used my old vacuum and ran through the house with it thinking that it would be a few more days before I got this one and got hubby to assemble it for use.
He put it together right away and I ran it just ONE day ofter using the older one. Granted, I realized it was time to replace the old one but it still picked up a good bit of stuff and when I changed bags, its was obviously still pulling a good bit of dust, cat hair, etc. when I used it.

But, I am still in a state of shock at what came out of my carpet! EEEEKKKKKKKKK!!! I am almost thinking that I may have to buy a new filter now, even though it says to change every six months! I can't begin to wrap my mind around just how much dust, cat hair, etc. that has obviously collecting in our house that we moved into just a couple of years ago at the most and the carpet was new at the time. I know they have a lot of fuzz and such in them when they are new but this is beyond belief as far as I am concerned.
Now, most of my floors are wood and I have vinyl in the kitchen and I know this machine did not come with a bare floor setting (which was my error before purchase) but am hoping it is available to purchase as attachment.
Either way, I put it on a different setting than for the higher carpet as I did not want it to beat up my wood floors andi it did fine. So, I covered most of the floor excpet the large formal dining room and the canister was full and as I said, I may need to replace the filter prior to the suggested time. It did brush off nicely with a soft bristle brush that I use for my clothes dryer.
All I can say is that this thing will make you feel like you have been living in a filthy dust pit and here I though I was a fairly clean person and kept a decent house and now I just feel like I need to run it again really quickly and see if I can get rid of more cooties!!
Mine came with the power paw but I did not even get that far with using it yet but feel sure it will be great on the furniture due to our cats who think they own the house!

Hoover Commercial Shoulder Backpack Vacuum Cleaner Review

We have been using the vacuum for 3-4 months now, and we love it! Our home is 90% hardwood floors and this vacuum is perfect. It is great on stairs, has excellent suction power, and was worth ever penny. No more tugging around our little tank vac or trying to clean the wood floors with our upright. The bag is very easy to clean and the filter seems to trap every last spec of dust. I'm not sure how well this would perform on deep carpet, but we use it on some low pile floor mats and it does great. The bottom line is after owning this we don't want any other vacuum.

This particular item has been a life saver for me. I have two pets that have messy shredded aspen bedding and pet hair that gets outside of the cage a lot. It tends to clog vacuums. This product picks it up well with no clogging. It picks up other small messes also. It takes a little effort though, sweeping back and forth. Still think its worth not ruining the vacuum.

Hoover WindTunnel Bagless Upright Vacuum, WindTunnel T-Series, UH70105 Review

Hoover WindTunnel Bagless Upright Vacuum, WindTunnel T-Series, UH70105
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Usually I won't buy a product on Amazon without seeing at least one customer review...but at $100 I thought I'd take a chance. I wanted a lightweight vacuum with good power, one that was bagless, able to pick up animal hair, and wouldn't cost me a fortune long-term with replacement filters. So far, this vacuum fits all those criteria.
PROS
- Easy to put together. It took me about 4 minutes once the pieces are out of the box. A Philips screwdriver is required to secure the handle. There's nothing complicated here.
- Long cord. Plus, there's a little cord clip up near the handle to secure the cord.
- Power. I was surprised to see how quickly this cleaned up and how much it got out of my carpet, even after my Roomba had taken a turn just before. Very good at getting fine cat hair out of a medium-pile carpet.
- Lightweight. You sacrifice a motor (i.e. it's not self-propelled), but the darn thing is so light it hardly matters. I had no trouble pushing this thing around; in fact, I found it easier to push without the motor than my bigger, heavier Bissell bagless vacuum (which weight about 10 pounds more but was self-propelled). It weighs about 15 pounds. Plus, the top of the canister serves as an additional handle for the entire vacuum, so you can pick it up in two different places.
- Easy to empty. The bottom of the canister is hinged. Push the button to unlock the canister from the vacuum, bring the canister to your garbage, and push the latch (easy to do) on the front of the canister. The darn thing just empties right out. (Just be sure you've got it over the garbage when you do!)
- Filters. The packaging says you never need to replace the HEPA filter (located at the top of the canister), and the canister's cone filter is apparently rinsable. I haven't had to deal with either yet.
CONS
One star off because of the little noises associated with operation. First, there was this weird chirping sound for about 5 minutes after using it the first time. It did, however, go away - looks like it was literally a squeaky wheel. And second, once you get something of weight in the canister, like a tiny piece of gravel, it whirls around and around and around...and you hear it whirl around and around...it's pretty loud. But overall, neither of these would keep me from purchasing again.

Very nice product from Scotchgard. Does what it says. My daughter spilled coke on the seat and this product actually prevented the coke being absorbed in to the fabric and just enough time to wipe it away with towels. This product does prevent the spillage form being absorbed immediately into the fabric and gives you just about enough time so that you can brush the spillage off the seats or use towels to get rid of them.

Hoky PowerRotor PR3000 Sweeper Review

Hoky PowerRotor PR3000 Sweeper
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I use my heavy Hoover self-propelled vacuum once or twice a week. It does a superb job deep-cleaning and lifting the fibres of my carpets. At all other times between vacuuming I use the Hoky (what a misnomer!!!) for cleanups.
Over the years, I have tried many other types of "mini-cleaners" including several rechargeable and 120 volt. These include stick cleaners and hand-held cleaners, several with power nozzles.
Cleanup varies from poor to adequate with all of these. AND the rechargeable batteries never seem to last very long until they will not hold a decent charge - then the batteries cost as much as the whole cleaner to replace. Also 120v cleaners require a convenient outlet and their power cords to be released then rewound after use. The ones with small dirt containers need to be emptied and their small filters usually need to be brushed off and washed after each use if their (often feeble) suction is to remain effective.
The Hoky is always ready to use and does a first rate job of picking up all regular debris tracked in the house - including pet hair and fur. It works equally well on wood floors, laminate floors, ceramic tiles and carpeting - picking dirt up in one pass and requiring minimal effort to push (unless carpet pile is particularly plush). It will even clean wet floors - instead of a brush, it has a "RotorBlade" (a spindle with rubber squeegees) - which works well for small liquid spills. Emptying the 2 dirt pans is very straightforward; there are no filters to clog and the rotorblade seems to clean itself of hair and fur.
One Hoky and one heavy vacuum (per floor maybe?) is all you need to keep your floors free of dirt and debris at all times with minimal effort. None of the other "mini cleaners" I have used have done a better job AND all of them are less convenient.
Just remember to park the Hoky horizontally (or empty it before parking it) to avoid dumping dirt next time you start to use it. OR wait until the next "unbeliever" needs a demonstration. Just one or two passes and it will all be picked up again.

Bissell PROdry Fast-Drying Carpet Cleaner, 7350 Review

Bissell PROdry Fast-Drying Carpet Cleaner, 7350
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I'm a big fan of Bissell products. I have their HealthyHome upright vac and absolutely love it. Also have their SpotBot (for spot carpet cleaning) and their FlipIt (for hard floor cleaning) and put both to use regularly (when you have multiple cats, you need lots of cleaning equipment!). So I was expecting another home run from the ProDry.
Big disappointment! While it has some merits, the bottom line is that it is not nearly as effective as a traditional carpet cleaner.
The unit assembles easily. Just four screws and you're good to go. You fill the clean water tank (located in the rear) with hot water and cleaning fluid, just like a conventional carpet cleaner. The dirty water tank is the front. What's different about the ProDry is the roller bar.
Rather than spray water on the carpet and then suck it back up, the ProDry wets a roller bar that, in turn, rubs on the carpet and (in theory) cleans it. The roller bar looks just like a long nap paint roller (e.g., the type you would use to paint a textured wall).
The benefit of this approach is that the carpet is not soaked with cleaning fluid, thus cutting down on the dry time. Also, it's good for area rugs, since the cleaning fluid won't soak into the carpet and damage the floor below.
That all sounds good, but the be-all and end-all of a carpet cleaner is whether it actually cleans the carpet. The ProDry did a very poor job on a thick pile carpet (a 10 by 15 area rug). While it was barely damp when I was done, it was also barely clean. I've had much better results with a conventional carpet cleaner. Even the SpotBot did a better job! (Yes you can use a SpotBot to clean a large rug -- use the hose and set aside a LOT of time!)
It did a bit better on a loose nap rug but again, the results were significantly below what I would consider to be acceptable.
The roller bar can be cleaned and should last (according to Bissell) for six months. The problem is that removing it for cleaning is a real bear -- you have to remove several screws to get it off the machine. I was surprised by this design issue given the thought Bissell has put into their other products to make them easy to use.
It also has a spray nozzle and hose system for cleaning stairs, furniture, etc. That worked well - just turn the dial on the front to switch to the hose, and it dispensed the fluid and sucked it back up with minimal fuss. It also has a rather unique cleaning head (in addition to the regular one) that can be filled with the Bissell OxyGen cleaning fluid. That was a bit messy in terms of leaks, but a nice idea. I'm a bit concerned about the build quality of the hose assembly - seems rather flimsy.
I'll use this mainly as a stair cleaner using the hose and nozzle. I've been using my SpotBot for that, and the longer hose and bigger tanks will make that job easier. Other than that, I can't see much benefit to this model, and I don't feel it is worth the cost charged.
I'd recommend the ProDry only if you have nothing but area rugs that are brand new and need only the most gentle of cleaning. For anything else, I think you can do a lot better with a more conventional carpet cleaner from Bissell or Hoover.

Equipped with a 6-1/4 amp motor, this fast-drying carpet cleaner makes cleaning carpets as easy as vacuuming. The unit's TLR PowerRoller floor brush not only lifts, traps, and removes dirt and debris from carpets and area rugs, but it also absorbs the majority of the cleaning spray from the machine for fast drying in less than 30 minutes. Plus, area rugs can be cleaned where they lay because the cleaning solution won't soak through. Choose between floor cleaning or cleaning with tools by turning the Ready Tools dial. The "tools" setting allows for above-floor cleaning of upholstery, stairs, creases along baseboards, and hard-to-reach areas. Simply choose the appropriate tool for the job, attach it to the flexible ready-to-use 8-foot hose, and it's ready to go. Tools include a tough-stain tool and an OxyGen2 PowerTool, both made from 100-percent post-consumer recycled materials. The OxyGen2 PowerTool, in combination with OxyGen2 multi-purpose formula, works as an advanced stain-fighting tool for removing tough stains such as coffee, juice, cola, and red wine. Other details include a 1/2-gallon clean-water/solution tank, a carry handle, large easy-to-maneuver wheels, and a 25-foot power cord with Quick Release cord wrap. A 16-ounce bottle of Fiber Cleansing Formula and a trial-size container of OxyGen2 are included, and the TLR PowerRoller can be washed or replaced as needed. Holloway House 1275-00001A Quick Shine Cordless Glide Sweeper Review

Holloway House 1275-00001A Quick Shine Cordless Glide Sweeper
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This idea, the cordless sweeper, has been a great invention for those of us with non-carpeted flooring that seems to show every spec of dirt or hair. While all models out there have the basic four sweeper brushes that do a good job of picking up dirt, a tray to empty, and a rechargeable battery, the overall disappointment with this is the Ni-Cad battery it uses. This translates to low usage time since it doesn't last more than a week of casual use on a full charge, a gradual loss of sweeping power (similar to a handheld vac when the battery is dying) so that the remaining power is too weak to be useful yet you risk "memory" damage if you recharge it. Consquently, when it is losing the battery power, you have to sit it in a corner to let it die out completely, then set it on the charger. My particularly battery was utterly useless after less than 6 months. I had regular usage of my hardwood floors and I cannot find a replacement battery, even on the manufacturers website. This would be a great product if not for the battery issue.

For cleaning made effortless, turn to this all-in-one sweeper, broom, and vacuum. The slim, lightweight unit offers a sleek alternative to cumbersome cleaning equipment, and its unique battery-operated design--complete with a long-lasting, rechargeable battery--eliminates the hassles of restrictive cord lengths and electrical outlet limitations. Designed to glide easily over hardwood, tile, marble, laminate, rugs, and carpeting, the sweeper efficiently lifts dust, debris, lint, crumbs, and other messes and traps them in its bag-less tray for simple disposal. Even more, its wheel-free design allows for side-to-side and 360-degree swiveling motion, while sweeping brushes on all four of its sides thoroughly clean along baseboards, beneath cupboards, and in tight corners. A great choice for busy families, homes with pets, and smaller living spaces such as apartments and condos, the unit also makes a smart addition to RVs, cabins, and more. The cordless glide sweeper measures approximately 7 by 15 by 45 inches.

Anti Icky Poo - 1 Gallon Review

Anti Icky Poo - 1 Gallon

We have very sensitive noses when it comes to cat urine and tried MANY other products that didn't remove all the smell. Anti Icky Poo did. It has a clean, shower-fresh scent, not a perfumey type one that tries to mask odors.
We had to call the product's customer support for extra assistance, because one spot was extra stubborn. They were *very* informative and helpful. The advice they gave was to deep-treat it by first applying the solution as directed then putting a wet towel and a plastic bucket over the area to keep it working and not dry out for about a week. We did that and the smell was ABSOLUTELY gone after trying for six months previously. I am now a lifelong fan & if the problem ever occurs again, I now know exactly what to do.

Eureka 96 B Quick Up Upright Cordless Stick Vacuum Review

Eureka 96 B Quick Up Upright Cordless Stick Vacuum

However debris-free our kitchen floor may be in the morning, it is, by the end of the night, usually covered in a fine layer of crushed Cheerios. What's to be done? Picking up stuff with a broom and dustpan is laborious. Hauling out the regular vacuum cleaner is too much to ask. And much as I love the Swiffer--and I do love the Swiffer--its forte is dust clean-up, not picking up crumbs.
Enter the Eureka Boss Lite Upright Cordless, probably the best product I bought last year. It's light. It holds its charge long enough to do everything I've ever wanted to do with it. It slips on and off its recharging holder thing easily. And it does a good job, thank you very much--by which I mean that I have pretty much abandoned the aforementioned regular vacuum cleaner (in every room, not just the kitchen) because I just don't need it anymore. And of course the big advantage is that because of its great ease of use one can more easily and more often clean one's floor. On an average day I probably take this thing out two or three times.
Another reviewer mentioned the desirability of having a hose attachment for getting into corners. I would like this too, if (and only if) it could be added to the machine without making it (the machine) any more cumbersome or complicated. At any rate, a delightful vacuum cleaner that has made life easier around here. I highly recommend it.

Bissell Flip-t Bare Floor Cleaner, 5200 Review

Bissell Flip-t Bare Floor Cleaner, 5200
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have 3 large dogs that drool any water left in their mouths after a drink, and a large textured ceramic floor that collects dirt in the grooves of the texture. I bought a Hoover Floor-mate in hopes of eliminating the mop and bucket, and because I felt that after a while I was pushing around dirty water. The Floor-mate did pick up a lot of dirt, but it is too large to get under cabinets and the brushes are too soft and too high to get into the crevices of the texture in the ceramic.
I decided to try the Flip-It because it is supposed to vacuum and wash the floor. First of all, you really have to vacuum first and clean the receptacle before washing. Otherwise, you will end up with a yucky mess to clean from the receptable and filter. I didn't find that the vacuum blew the hair as one other buy had reported, but I agree that it doesn't vacuum very well. It picked up some hair and small crumbs, but didn't get all of it. This was obvious when I washed the floor. More hair was picked up in the washing process.
With the rubber brush and a little pressure, this cleaner did get much more of the dirt out of the floor texture. I still had to scrub some with the brush on the unit, but I would have to do the same with a sponge mop. At least with this cleaner, the dirty water is vacuumed up and clean solution is dispensed for the next section. Even with my uneven floor, the unit did pick up the water, and the floor dried quickly.
The first floor bathroom, hall, kitchen, and foyer are pretty large, kitchen alone is about 12' x 18'. I had to refill the cleaner 3 times. I filled the unit with hot water from the tap. So maybe that helped. I don't think this is too bad because I had to refill the Floor-mate as many times and it didn't get the floor as clean.
I wouldn't use this unit as a vacuum again, but as a hard floor cleaner, I think it works well on floors that need more scrubbing than a soft brush.

Combining power with versatility, this bare-floor cleaner features three modes of cleaning--dry vacuum, wet vacuum, and drying. A fingertip trigger control dispenses the cleaning solution, while its floating soft-scrub brush and interchangeable pad, which are machine washable, allow for cleaning various types of floor surfaces. Lightweight at just 8 pounds, this self-standing upright unit is designed with a low-profile head, which makes it easier to access hard-to-reach areas like under beds, couches, and other furniture. Other convenient features include simple drop-in tanks, one-screw quick assembly, and a 22-foot power cord for easy maneuverability. Two trial-size Bissell chemical solutions are included. This safe and powerful floor cleaner measures 7-1/2 by 11-1/4 by 44 inches and carries a one-year limited parts-and-labor warranty.
Wet or Dry Begin by using the dry side to vacuum crumbs, pet hair, and other dirt and debris. When the unit is flipped around, and the handle tilted back, the Gentle Clean brush is automatically lowered for wet cleaning. When the formula trigger is squeezed, water and formula are dispensed on the floor. A Gentle Clean brush or pad cleans the floor, while the squeegee and suction leave the floor dry and ready to walk on.
Unlike other hard floor cleaners, the Flip-It can be customized for different flooring types with its interchangeable Gentle Clean brushes and cleaning pads. The Gentle Clean brush is designed for use on surfaces such as tile, slate or hard floors with grout or crevices where dirt and grime collect. While the Gentle Clean pad is perfect for use on more delicate surfaces such as sealed hardwood, laminates or vinyl. The Flip-It can safely be used on virtually all hard floor surfaces in your home such as vinyl, ceramic, laminates, slate and sealed hardwood. It is not intended for use on carpeting.
Easy to Use The Flip-It hard floor cleaner involves no complicated levers or buttons to change between dry and wet cleaning. A simple one step assembly is all that is required. Place the handle on the unit and insert one screw to secure it in place. After filling the clean tank with water and solution you are ready to clean. Plus, the lightweight cleaner's low-profile head easily accesses hard-to-reach spaces and corners under beds, couches, and other furniture.
The Bissell Story Bissell's history dates back to the mid-1800s in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where Anna and Melville Bissell owned a small crockery shop. While cleaning up one day, Anna grew frustrated with the sawdust in the carpet. After she presented the problem to Melville, he designed and constructed the company's first carpet sweeper, which subsequently was patented in 1876. Following Melville Bissell's death in 1889, Anna Bissell became America's first female corporate CEO. The Bissell company has evolved into a leader in carpet cleaning, introducing one of the first carpet shampooers in 1956, as well as the Big Green Clean Machine in 1992 and the Spot Lifter in 1998. Throughout the company's history, it has continually focused on redefining the concept of clean with a large family of innovative cleaning products.

Purchased for the home. Vacuum has great suction but cleaning the unit is messy. The foam filter needs to be washed monthly depending on how much you use the unit. As with any other vacuum i have used the carpet roller brush gets clogged with hairs and needs frequent cleaning and disentanglement. Floors are cleaned better with the use of the floor attachment (a pain when you are transitioning from carpet to floor). Cord is not retractable and does get in the way at times. I have no experience with a dyson vacuum but purchased this one due to the price. Unit is relatively light and construction is okay.

Rainbow Aquamate Carpet Shampooer Review

I just used my Aquamate Carpet Shampooer for the first time and I couldn't be happier with it. For years I have had a Bissel Proheat. Don't get me wrong the Bissel worked well but it was bulky and hard to figure out. Not the Aquamate, it is easy: fill the water part, add a cap full of cleaner with some water and you're ready to go. The controls on the top of the Aquamate make sense. First setting is shampoo, next click down is water and the last click is vacuum. I ran the vacuum setting over the carpet 4 times before moving on and when I was done with my family room the side I started on was pretty much dry. I didn't have socks on but on my bare feet it was dry. It maneuvers like the vacuum attachment so it was easy to use, not heavy and worked real well. I was impressed, I did a 12x34 foot room start to finish of vacuuming to Aquamate in an hour 15 min. It would have taken me much longer with my Bissel and the carpet would have been wet much longer. I am real happy with it and with having two small children I could have the time to shampoo vac a room after they go to bed for the night and it will be 100% ready by the next morning when my family wakes up art 5 am.

I have 200 sq feet of Italian tile flooring that took me 8 hours to hand scrub to get looking clean (cleaning the grout was especially troubling). After doing a lot of research, I realized this near-industrial tool was what I needed.
I also have an older dog that sometimes goes on the carpet. I used this machine with Koblenz Carpet Shampoo and Koblenz Deodorizer (2 different products) and the spots and urine odor are gone. Great tool for touch ups.
This machine is a SCRUBBER. It will lay down liquid for you and scrub for you, but it won't remove the liquid. For tile floors you'll have to mop up the liquid yourself. For carpets, you vacuum the cleaning residue.
I HIGHLY recommend this product. It is smartly engineered and manufactured to do a single type of job. It has a metal "chassis", brass bushings, and the reservior tank is made of sturdy plastic. I haven't had anything break, but if something does break, parts are available on line and should be easy to replace.
I really like the Koblenz shampoo and deodorizer, but the Koblenz hardsurface cleaner is unnecessary - Mr. Clean works as well or better than the hardsurface cleaner on my tile floors. My first attempt at cleaning the tile, I used the cleaner sparingly with the hard bristle brushes and didn't like the outcome. The second time I cleaned the tile I used the soft bristle bushes with a liberal amount of cleaner and the tile came out fantastic. So, if you get this machine, you might need to experiment before you're happy with the outcome.

Having just put tile throughout the house, and living with 3 dogs and 2 cats, I hated hauling out the heavy vacuum and plugging it in. And then unplugging and plugging again and again all the while dragging it around the house.. This little wonder does the whole house, is light and does the job. The only complaint I could possibly have is that the dirt cup is quite small and has to be emptied frequently. This, of course, would vary depending on how much animal hair accumulates on ones floor.

I would heartily reccommend this device because of it's ease of use, lack of weight and powerful suction.
I love it and could sell them door to door they are so great.
